This morning U.S. forces struck against targets in northern Iraq. Here's what we know:
- Two F/A-18 aircraft dropped 500-pound laser-guided bombs on mobile artillery used by ISIS militants, the Pentagon said
- The artillery was destroyed in the strike, Rear Adm. John Kirby says
- President Obama authorized the strikes -- to protect U.S. personnel and interests as well as concerns about the actions of ISIS
- U.S. airlines are now banned from flying over Iraq
